BGG's Most Anticipated Games & the 2020 Con Season

Hey Paleontologists,
While we wait [im]patiently to get our samples from China, we have some great news for you!
BGG's 20 Most Anticipated Games
Every year, there is a competition to see what the most anticipated games of 2020 are. There are several categories that a game can be nominated in. Guess what!? Fossilis has been nominated in 7 categories. Here they are:
* Euro * Thematic * Wargame * Abstract * Family * Short Game * Science
We believe that Fossilis has a very good shot at winning the Family category, and can soar in some of the others. If you are as excited as we are, please join us in thumbing the game on the list HERE.
At the conclusion of nominations (collecting thumbs) on February 8th, a poll will be created with the top 50 nominations. At that time, you can go back and vote for Fossilis in each of the categories mentioned above. We will send out a reminder when we are ready for you to do that.
So, this is a two-step process. We are so appreciative of your support!

Progress, Component Art, and Happy Lunar New Year!

A great update for you today! Here we go...
Game Components/Art
We have completed almost all of the art and graphic design for each and every component of Fossilis, including the expansions. Take a look at these components:

We are very happy with the progress we are making on Fossilis!

Happy Lunar New Year! For many of you this means celebration time. We hope you have a wonderful holiday celebrating with your family and friends.
Timeline
We want to be sure to have this game completed on time. That means that once everyone returns to work in February in China, we'll have the sample made and sent out to us. Between now and then, Gen X Games (our Spanish Partner) will be working on the translation, so that when we are ready to print the game we can do it at the same time. We are still on track to get your games out to you in August.
If you have not completed your BackerKit survey, please do ASAP. We need to get our numbers together for manufacturing. If you don't know where to go to find your survey, please DM us and we'll send you a link.

Happy Holidays and Progress

Hey Paleontologists!
Progress on Fossilis
While we are moving much slower during the holidays, we want you to know we are always moving forward. At the beginning of January we'll have all of our ducks in a row to begin translation into Spanish. While that is happening, we'll also be submitting our files for the sample. Once we receive the sample, we will tweak whatever needs tweaking, and then the manufacturing process will begin. We'll be in touch during January to let you know how things have progressed.

There are so many wonderful holidays to celebrate this time of year. Last night was the first night of Chanukah and tomorrow is Christmas Eve. What could be better?

BackerKit Surveys and Charging Cards For Shipping

Hey Paleontologists!
We are chugging along here with completing the files for Fossilis. As we mentioned in a previous update, the rules have been completed and the art has been completed. We are working on submitting files so that we can get a sample ASAP. Our last bit of work is on the print file for the board. We created it to fit a vacuform board. But we have since decided that we wanted it to be thicker and sturdier. So, we're working on tweaking it a bit so that it can be injection-moulded.
BackerKit Surveys
You've done a great job at completing them. Some of you have yet to do so. We can't know how many games to order until your survey is complete. If you could take the time out of your day to fill your survey out, we will keep on schedule.
Charging Credit Cards
Paleontologists, today is the day that is scheduled for charging your credit cards. We usually send out a 24 hour notice so that you can get your banks to allow charges to your card. So, this is your 24 hour warning. Tomorrow at this time we'll be charging you for shipping.
Final Thoughts ...
